Since 2008, we have developed over 300 European projects in Spain and across Europe in collaboration with public and private entities in the fields of youth, education, and culture.

We want you to know all the details and pitfalls to avoid on your European adventure. Are you in?

Topics

Topics will be released every three weeks so students can work at their own pace. There will also be four one-hour live sessions with the instructor for each module to answer any questions related to the course.

Module 1 – November 16 – December 13: EU PROGRAMMING 2021-2027

We will begin by presenting the main European funding programs for 2021-2027 (direct/indirect management). For each program, we will analyze the objectives, participation requirements, and eligible activities.

What will you learn?

● The main funding opportunities.

● Focus on programs related to the Environment, Justice, Human Rights, Inclusion, Culture, Education, and Training.

● Information sources
● Where to find calls for proposals
● How to participate and financial eligibility requirements

23 Lessons: Specific terminology, getting started with the platforms, project objectives and the Triple Constraint principle, keys to project success and failure, Erasmus+, Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, Horizon Program, Creative Europe, LIFE, CERV, Justice, INTERREG-SUDOE, Next Generation EU Funds, European Social Fund, and European Solidarity Corps.

Module 2 – November 14 2026 to January 3 2027 

Project Management Techniques and Methodologies
We will share the different tools used for developing a European project, such as Project Cycle Management (PCM) and the Logical Framework, as well as the Gantt chart and the EU Project Manager Canvas.
What will you learn?

● Analyzing a call for proposals, its objectives, key aspects, and evaluation criteria.

● Feasibility analysis, development of the Logical Framework, and proposal planning.

● Analysis of the context, needs, objectives, and expected results.

● Partnerships: how to choose good partners and what mistakes to avoid.

14 Lessons: Creating your European personal brand, concept notes, navigating application forms, objectives and work plan, partner search and participant identification, activities, and work packages.

Module 3 – January  4-24 2027 

Managing and Implementing a European Project
We will delve into the heart of a project, addressing its different phases, from inception to completion. We will use specific tools and models to draft a proposal following a logical and time-bound approach.

● Planning the distribution of tasks among partners
● Building a strong proposal
● Examples of best practices in project management
● Organizing activities
● Time planning
● Practical exercise: The EU Project Manager Canvas

13 lessons: Project approval, what happens next?, risk analysis, managing and implementing a European project, roles and responsibilities, the RASCI model, evaluation and monitoring. CAWI and CAME, dissemination and impact, what and how evaluators assess, impact and sustainability

Module 4 – January 25 to February 14 2027

Financial Management
Using a practical methodology and shared tools, we will learn to create a viable budget that guarantees sustainability. We will also explain the principle of co-financing.

What will you learn?

● Planning the budget creation process

● Lump-sum and detailed budgets

● Eligible and ineligible expenses

● Direct and indirect costs

● Understanding the different parts of a budget

● Sustainability, evaluation, and monitoring

11 lessons: Building and planning a budget, financial management with partners, financial justification, justification, amendments, interim report, final report, document analysis, inspections, and audits.

4 Live Online Tutorials

These correspond to each module and will be held live with the instructor in a group setting. If you cannot attend a live session, it will be recorded and uploaded to the platform.

3 Mandatory Practical Assignments

You will submit three practical assignments with immediate applicability to begin working with European projects. One of these assignments is a final practical exercise: writing a mini-European project proposal based on your idea, which will be evaluated by the instructor.
